Very honored to be selected one of the Individual Artist Award 2017 from the Santo Foundation, St. Louis, USA. This is an international competition, there were more than 800+ entry from 40 US states, and 30 countries.
About The Santo Foundation Individual Artist Awards:
Our original mission set out to assist the careers of emerging Artists. It was clear that most granting agencies that gave money to artists went first to organizations and designated funds, who then trickled financial awards down to artists. The concept of streamlining grants/stipends directly to artist was unprecedented.
The process began in 2009 by selecting a Distinguished Juror connected to a contemporary museum. This allowed our candidates the rare opportunity to have their work seen first-hand by significant curators and museum directors.
Our Distinguished Jurors select top award winners based solely on the quality of their work. Beyond the opportunity to have their work reviewed by our jurors, the award winners receive substantial monetary stipends. Many of our Distinguished Jurors have further included our candidates in permanent museum collections, solo and group exhibitions.

Have declined several contacts from the artfair invitations from in person or some galleries about Art Basel Miami related or NY Art Fair Expo etc. Do not need to be part of it, as they require some money from us, even it is not much, specially discounted level of money. We think it is a kind of scam, sorry. Some artists do join Art Basel with lots of fee (xx thousands of dollars) but they are able to participate in the surrounding area of the Basel, it is far location o the main Basel area, you can find it on Google easily. We call it is not Art Basel exhibition scam really, and it is a joke business.
I wonder my gallery, Frederick Holmes Gallery participate more of modern art fairs such Art Basels Miami, Seattle Art Fairs, LA Art fairs, as well as NY Fairs in the near future. Thank you.

Got the e-mail recently.
I just wanted to let you know that the Arts Commission unanimously approved your design for the traffic signal controller box! I have asked the vinyl production company to provide specifics about what they’ll need to transform your artwork into a vinyl wrap, but I think it will just be a high resolution photo/file. Send the highest resolution of what you have my way and I’ll see if that works.
Thank you and look forward to working with this project in WA, USA.

Thank you for your kind message from my art collectors, much appreciated.
"When I first saw the work of Naoko Morisawa I was immediately taken by the voice and the message of each piece. To me enjoyment of art involves not only the eyes but also the emotions of the heart. They must be balanced with the viewer’s intellect and spirit. Naoko’s work is Visual Poetry. It is a statement about nature, both romantic and classic, showing the aura which surrounds it and emphasizes the formula principals of art- balance, rhythm, repetition, contrast, harmony, unity, variety, order, discipline, and freedom. Her work fills a room with a lovely melody and the song of life enjoyed."
"Concerning Naoko Morisawa's artowrk, we owned it because we kept on thinking about it, even after returning from Venice and viewing the Biennale. We both admired the craftsmanship involved in cutting the pieces of wood and creating the composition. The composition itself had energy forcing us to step back and take notice."

Florida Exhibition 2017 invited in this fall-winter, and another publication selection by Open Studio Press, MA USA in 2018.
AT/ IT will replace your work if it is easy to copy, or immitate that we can learn from history
Your works should be made done by only yourself. We see last 20 years so many works/ job have been taken by AT/ IT computuer. Now even car will be the one. Artwork and artsits will be facing the same unless art is pretty original. We see great software today it can easily make Andy Warhol styled image in a second. Someone use it or similar applictions to create image as if he does it by himself but obviously not. Which can be easily known, and it looks cheap kind immitation. Such case will be deminished, taken by conputer. Need and keep your skillset nobody can immitate your art. Originality is pretty much important. Attain the level, where IT/ AT or computers cannnot do. Thats' what will be happen within a decade. KM
